Romantic Weekends: A Key Ingredient to Keeping Your Love Alive

Romantic weekends are a wonderful way to create memories with the one you love. Your weekend together can be simple and inexpensive or a lavish treat for the two of you to share. The important thing is to make whatever you do a special time for the two of you to enjoy the company of one another.

The following ideas can help you plan a romantic weekend you will both remember and appreciate.

  • Take a trip to the local cinema and see a new movie you both want to see. While this may be the most traditional date you can think of, watching a movie together is a terrific way to open the lines of communication. After the show, discuss your thoughts about the characters, your feelings on the story, and any other topics that may start.
  • Enjoy the romance of nature. Share an afternoon at the local park. Pack a blanket, sandwiches, and sparkling cider for a romantic weekend picnic with plenty of conversation and cuddling.
  • Escape for a romantic weekend getaway in the simplicity of the country. Visit a nearby town or plan an exotic trip to a place you’ve never been before. The important thing is to do things you can both enjoy together and make lasting memories that become cherished pieces of your relationship.
  • Discover the intimacy of cooking as a couple. An inexpensive romantic weekend at home in the kitchen is a perfect opportunity for you and your special someone to get closer. Prepare your favorite recipes together and have even more fun feeding your creation to one another.
  • Schedule an intimate night in. Turn down the lights and press play on your favorite movie. Bring out the popcorn and the Raisinettes, stick two straws in your favorite soft drink, and cuddle close on the loveseat.
  • Dine by candlelight. The soft flicker of a candle brings a romantic atmosphere to any occasion. Cook your favorite meal together, enjoy take out from a local restaurant, or make reservations at a fine dining establishment nearby. Don’t wait for a special occasion.
  • Relax with the tranquility of the surf. Walking barefoot by the foamy waves, hand in hand with the person you love, is one of the most romantic ways to spend your weekend together. Take a midday walk and search for shells or stroll under the moonlight and share your dreams.
  • Bring back youthful romance in your relationship. Spend the day sharing candy apples and riding roller coasters at an amusement park. Hold hands and talk as you stand in line. Try to ride something new together and visit the gift shop to treat yourselves to a special souvenir.

Romantic weekends can be carefully planned or completely spontaneous. You can stay at home or travel far away. The important thing is to spend time with the person you love. Always remember to bring along your camera so you can share your memories for years to come. Display your favorite photos in a frame or make a scrapbook together to capture the details of your past romantic weekends.
