Thirteen Halloween Couple Costumes

Halloween Activities and Costumes for Couples

There are lots of events and occasions in life that are much more fun when they are shared with someone special. Halloween is one of those times. Bonfires, hayrides, spooky venues, and the crisp, cool night air are the perfect setting for snuggling close and cuddling, while celebrations and Halloween parties are also ideal opportunities to have fun together. There are a variety of Halloween costumes for couples to make your night memorable and even more exciting.

Dressing up together is a lot of fun and the possibilities for Halloween costumes for couples are endless. The best couple’s costume for you and your sweetheart will depend on your individual tastes and interests, as well as your plans for Halloween. There are so many different activities and happenings planned each year for Halloween, that the decision of what to do and where to go may be just as difficult as choosing a costume!

If you have young children and plan to celebrate Halloween as a family, you can still dress up together. There are plenty of Halloween costumes for couples that are family-friendly and many can be adapted to include the entire family, even the dog! Whether you’re trick-or-treating with the little ones or attending a family Halloween party, these Halloween costumes for couples are sure to be a hit.

For mild, but still sexy Halloween costumes, try family friendly television and movie characters and other traditional themes that are not too revealing.

1. Daphne and Fred from Scooby Doo

2. Mr. and Mrs. Incredible

3. Pebbles Flintstone and Bam-Bam Rubble

4. Geppetto the Toymaker and one of his marionette puppets

(this one’s not really too sexy for the guys, but a good Halloween costume for couples attending a family oriented celebration.)

5. Jasmine and Aladdin

If there are no children involved in your Halloween plans, you can spice up the evening with a more seductive and revealing costume. There are a great selection of sexy Halloween costumes for couples and plenty of fun opportunities to wear them together. You may decide to attend a party at a local nightclub or hosted by a friend. Most Halloween parties feature costume contests with a variety of categories. Halloween costumes for couples are often found among the winners.

If you’re not going to a Halloween party, you can still dress up together. Visit a haunted house or two in your disguise, enjoy the stares as you have an incognito dinner out, or plan a private Halloween party at home for just the two of you. Sexy Halloween costumes for couples can quickly lead to an exciting night of romance when you dress up together at home.

6. Hugh Hefner and a Playboy princess

7. An army sergeant and boot camp babe

The Perfect Romantic Picnic for Two

Summer’s officially over, but there’s still plenty of time to squeeze in one last romantic picnic for two! For the perfect romantic picnic, the menu should be simple and the setting should be secluded and quiet. Here’s my favorite romantic picnic idea:

The food: summer sausage, baby Swiss cheese, crusty French bread, Dijon mustard, fresh fruit like grapes, oranges, and strawberries with chocolate dip, and a nice merlot

The setting: late afternoon or early evening, just before sunset. A short, easy hike to some place with a beautiful view (I personally prefer a quiet beach)

Pack your food in something easy to carry (backpacks work well if you’re hiking) and don’t forget glasses, a blanket, and a knife to cut the bread and sausage. You may want a few napkins as well and I bring along a couple candles and matches to add to the romantic mood.

When was the last time you had a romantic picnic for two? Leave your ideas for romantic picnics in the comments.

Thursday 13: 13 Romantic Things to Do For Halloween

Thursday 13: 13 Romantic Things to Do For Halloween

Halloween isn’t too far away and it’s the perfect time to get close and cuddly with your special someone. Here are 13 of my favorite romantic things to do for Halloween.

1. Visit the local pumpkin patch and pick out a pumpkin to carve together. Make a romantic evening out of carving it.
2. Create a new holiday tradition together, whether you buy each other a special treat, bake a pumpkin pie, or enjoy hot cider on a hayride.
3. Choose costumes for one another without the other knowing and dress up together in whatever your sweetie has chosen.
4. Walk through a haunted corn maze together. Haunted trails and houses are a great way to get close and the lonely corn field is a perfect location for stealing a few romantic kisses.
5. Once the kids are wore out from trick or treating, put them to bed, pop some popcorn, and heat up a couple mugs of spiced cider, then snuggle together on the couch for a night of scary movies that will keep you close.
6. Visit a graveyard after dark and creep around scaring each other. Make sure the graveyard is open to avoid trouble.
7. Stay home and pass out candy together. When the little ghouls and goblins have all gone home, turn down the lights and dress in your own sexy Halloween costumes for some trick-or-treating fun of your own.
8. Decorate your house and yard together. Take pictures and make a scrapbook page or Halloween collage together to remember the occasion.
9. Take a trip to your local fall carnival or harvest festival. Play games together and win prizes for your sweetie. Savor the scrumptious fall foods and act like teenagers again.
10. Plan a romantic gothic dinner for two. Decorate with candles and creepy skulls and bones, dress up in your favorite vampire costumes, and enjoy an eerie dinner alone by the flickering candles. Serve a deep red wine in heavy goblets
11. Dress up as a medieval knight and spend the entire evening charming your sweetheart with chivalry.
12. Carve a special pumpkin for your honey while they are away and surprise them by placing it on the front step before they get home. Try carving hearts or ‘I Love You’ in the Jack-O-Lantern.
13. Dress up as a bride and groom and go trick-or-treating together. Make arrangements with a friend to give your ‘bride’ her special treat and propose at the front door.

What are your favorite romantic ideas for Halloween?

Romance After Kids

Children take a great deal of time away from a marriage, but they are well worth it, and it is still possible to keep the romance in your marriage alive with a little strategic planning. I think one of the best ways to keep the romance after kids is to make a point of showing each other that you care all through the day.

There’s nothing wrong with being affectionate in front of your children. I think kids who see their parents holding hands and hugging and hear their parents complimenting one another and saying ‘I love you’ are more likely to have their own successful and happy relationships.

You and your special someone still need time alone or your relationship will definitely suffer, but finding a babysitter is not always an option. Check out these real life suggestions for creating romance after kids

13 of my favorite spooky sounds for Halloween

The temperatures are slowly getting cooler and Halloween is just around the corner. It’s time once again to get the costumes ready, stock up on candy, and fill the night air with blood curdling screams and psychotic laughter from your Halloween sound effect Cds!

Here are my favorite scary sounds, along with the CD they can be found on:
1. Laugh of Death - Track 4 from Sounds of Horror I like to play this CD to get people dancing at my Halloween party!
2. Dead Zone - Track 5 from Choice Cuts: Wicked Sounds of Horror I love this disc! It has sound clips from some of the best horror movies of all times!
3. Scary music with mad laughter - This is the 26th track on Ghost & Ghoul Sounds
4. Eating Flesh 2 is track 37 on Sounds from the Crypt. It’s a little sick but, hey, it’s Halloween!
5. Violent thunderstorm. The very first track on my favorite Halloween CD, another Sounds of Horror.
6. Track 9, the title song from Gates of Delirium. This is a terrific eerie disc from Midnight Syndicate and makes great background music for parties, trick or treat time, or just listening!
7. Another violent thunderstorm and another track from Ghost & Ghoul Sounds, this favorite is track 76.
8. The first track from Choice Cuts is music from the original Halloween. I like playing it while we are waiting for everyone to arrive.
9. Spooky Scary Sounds for Halloween is a great collection of creepy sounds from the Martha Stewart living collection. I like this CD because it is 40 straight minutes of gongs, screams, slams, and screeches.
10. Sleepy Eerie Time is the 6th track from the spooky collection, Graveyard Terror.
11. Another sick one, but Vampire sucking blood, track 28 from Sounds From the Crypt, is a great one to scare those older trick-or-treaters!
12. These last two are both from my favorite Halloween CD, Sounds of Horror. Track 2, midnight in the graveyard
13. And, track 8 wolves baying is another fun one!

What are your favorite scary sounds and Cds for Halloween? Have you decided on your costume yet for this year?

Unique Marriages: Halloween Weddings

Even though this horrendous heat makes it hard to believe, fall really is just around the corner. Soon, there will be pumpkins glowing and ghouls and goblins crawling the streets and, already, there are hundreds of couples planning their unique Halloween weddings.

There are many different reasons for couples to choose to have a Halloween wedding. Many just crave something different for their marriage ceremony and love the crisp, clear autumn air, while for other couples, Halloween may hold a significant meaning in their relationship. Whatever the reason for choosing the date, planning a Halloween wedding can be a lot of fun.

Here are a few of my favorite Halloween wedding ideas:
Ÿ Traditional Halloween colors (black and orange) can be rather drab for a wedding, so accent your decorations and attire with red
Ÿ Unless you are planning a masquerade wedding with everyone in costumes, the bride can still wear a traditional wedding dress for a Halloween wedding. The dress can be dyed red or simply accented with an elegant gothic style cape
Ÿ The best Halloween wedding favors are simple creations that fit the Halloween theme. Treat bags of Halloween candy or spooky cookies with festive ribbons are perfect. Candles also make ideal Halloween wedding favors.
Ÿ Halloween wedding cake toppers can be creepy or not. Some ideas include skeleton couples, bats, or even Mr. & Mrs. Frankenstein. A Halloween wedding cake may be traditional or may feature colored icing to match the theme. Candy corn, gummy worms, or spiders can be used to add to the cake’s Halloween theme.
